I tried to solve this after copying/pasting with the top line of air missing. It was very hard.

For the real puzzle I came up with two (bug) solutions:

Yep, the blank line is in the original, but I didn't spot it when copying and pasting. It's a good level either way!

I solved it without using the top line of air. It took about 8 tries.

Ah, I see that my solution is identical to @tttppp 's and mostly similar to the proper solution.

Updated above to include second solution, and canonical layout. Side note: canonical layout makes it clearer there is an empty line at the top.

I would have updated in Git but my laptop died because it can now only last 80% of a train journey.

I don't think you missed anything. I tried again today and it seemed easier than I remembered. I think last time I'd tried to get the rabbit to dig to let out the water.
